Some of the biggest names in hip-hop and EDM will be taking the stage during this year’s Budweiser Made in America Festival. Jay-Z, the founder of the annual festival, announced the star-studded lineup on Monday.

The Brooklyn-based rapper himself will be headlining along with J. Cole, who recently released his “4 Your Eyez Only” documentary. Other notable performers include The Chainsmokers, Migos, Solange, DMX, Run the Jewels and Kaskade.

While most of these artists have released albums recently, or will be releasing albums in the near future, Jay-Z hasn’t put out new music since 2013’s “Magna Carta Holy Grail.” Does this mean Hova will be blessing us with new tracks this year?

We can only assume J. Cole will be performing songs from “4 Your Eyez Only,” while Migos will run through their well-received new album, “Culture.” And for better or for worse, The Chainsmokers will perform from their groundbreaking Grammy shoo-in debut album “Memories … Do Not Open.”

So it just wouldn’t be fair if Jay-Z played old music. Now, there wouldn’t be anything wrong with that. He’s a great rapper and his earlier work ranks among some of hip-hop’s best, but if everyone is keeping it fresh, you would think he will too. It is worth noting that he hasn’t headlined since the festival’s inception in 2012. He wouldn’t just return to the stage after a four year absence and not have a reason to, would he? Keep an eye out in the coming months, as he might take us by surprise and announce a new album, or at least a new song, leading up to the festival.

The two-day Budweiser Made in America Festival will be held over Labor Day weekend, Sept. 2-3, at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia.
